Overview
Bold styling, aggressive stance, 4.0L V6 power, GPS navigation, Uconnect system, Bluetooth capability and more mark the 2010 Dodge Nitro, available in two models - Dodge Nitro SE and SXT (both available in 4x2 and 4x4 versions).
Dodge has introduced a number of new features like the Interactive Decel Fuel Shut Off (iDFSO) with 3.7-liter and 4-speed transmission, fuel-saver with "ECO" lamp indicator in cluster, new premium cloth seat trim with stain-repel seat fabric (SE and SXT model) for 2010.
Power and performance
A 3.7-liter V-6 engine is standard on the 2010 Dodge Nitro SE and SXT models pumps out 210 hp and 235 lb ft of torque. An exhaust-gas recirculation valve helps increase fuel economy. The optional 4.0-liter V-6 engine on Dodge Nitro SXT delivers 260 hp and 265 lb ft of torque. A 4-speed automatic transmission is standard and a 5-speed automatic is optional.
The new interactive Decel Fuel Shut Off (iDFSO) turns off fuel during vehicle deceleration and improves fuel economy without any noticeable changes in engine performance. The fuel economy of the Nitro ranges between 15 mpg in city and 22 mpg on highways.
Body and styling
The big new for Dodge Nitro enthusiasts for 2010 is the introduction of many new features like the front-row Active Head Restraints, air filtration system (both standard on all models), body-colored grille with bright billets, body-colored sills and front air dam (SXT model), six speakers (SE and SXT), power-heated manual folding mirrors (SE and SXT), available new leather seat trim (SXT model), standard body-colored grille with bright billets, body-colored sills and front air dam (SXT model), express-up front-passenger window (SXT model) and security alarm (SXT model).
The options include power sun roof, leather seats, heated front seats, remote start, ParkSense rear-park assist, Uconnect Phone, eight premium speakers, subwoofer and 368-watt amplifier, and Uconnect Navigation.
Safety Features
The standard safety and security features include Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Brake assist, all-speed traction control, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Electronic-roll Mitigation (ERM), front-row active head restraints and front and side-curtain air bags.
